Peter Peterson

Peter Peterson, artist

Born in India and obtained his Diploma in Painting at The Hornsey College of Art in 1967.

He was a Senior Lecturer in Fine Art at Epsom School of Art and Design, retiring in 1984. He has exhibited work at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions and the Royal Society of British Artists since the late 1960’s. 

Peter was elected to the RBA in 1978, becoming it’s Vice-President in 1988. 

Exhibited at numerous London and National Galleries, he has also had Major one man exhibitions (1992 and 1995) at the Mall Galleries. He has won numerous prestigious art awards, including the De Laszlo Medal (1994), the Guilders Workshop Prize at the Discerning Eye exhibition (1997) and was a finalist for the Huntington group Art prize (1983). 

Founding member of the Small Paintings Group London. 

Member of the Figurative and Representational Artist Group (FRAG) 2020

Visiting lecturer at Falmouth Art college (1986). visiting lecturer/teaching tour to Bermuda (1989 and 1992) 

His work has been exhibited and sold abroad in the USA, Bermuda and Hong Kong.
